Born in Landelles (Normandy), France in 1938.
He paints landscapes of his hometown Normandy, the Atlantic coast of Brittany, Paris, and Venice. His use of gentle colors may not create a strong initial impact, but it gradually permeates the heart, evoking an appreciation for everyday scenes bathed in soft light.
He began painting in childhood. His paintings are an expression of "eternal happiness." In his world, everything is enveloped in a gentle, subtle light. His art belongs to the tradition of French painting. Like all Impressionist painters, he expresses natural light and shadow and the emotions nature inspires with delicate touches, certainty of tone, and authentic colors. Entering a Marguey painting is like taking a summer stroll down a forest path.
The beauty of his forms, the flowing tones, and the accents of color are the secrets to his clear paintings. Down to the texture, it is as if one is in a dream world that is both concrete and full of color.
Exhibitions held in galleries throughout France, including galleries in Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a high-end boutique district in Paris. Awarded the Special Prize for Art, Science, and Culture.
He has also gained popularity in Japan by holding exhibitions at famous department stores such as Mitsukoshi and Daimaru.
