Born in Cologne, he studied graphic art at the Rhein-Sieg Art Academy before becoming an independent painter. He has continued to create while staying in various parts of Europe, including Paris, Italy, Spain, and Southern France.

His works feature rural landscapes in Germany and Tuscany, as well as the cityscapes of Paris, and are characterized by a unique style that blends the light expression of Impressionism with the powerful colors of German Expressionism.
