Collection: Jean-Michel Athlan

Born in Algeria in 1913, this painter was one of the leading artists of the "New School of Paris" active in Paris after the war. He is known for his unique abstract expression characterized by thick, undulating black lines and organic forms, depicting a world reminiscent of fantastical animals and plants. In the 1950s, he gained high acclaim in France, Japan, the United States, and other countries. He passed away in Paris in 1960.
