Collection: Georges Rouault

A painter born in Paris in 1871. He studied under the Symbolist painter Gustave Moreau and is known for his stained-glass-like style, characterized by thick black outlines and deep colors. His works, which depicted religious themes and human suffering, were highly acclaimed, making him one of the most representative painters of 20th-century French art. He passed away in Paris in 1958.
