He creates fantastical drawings of buildings and people while maintaining a concreteness in his paintings, which create a sense of another dimension with wire-like lines. He also produces prints in addition to paintings. He also works on illustrations for works by Hemingway and Albert Camus.

Born in 1907 to an Armenian family in Syria.

He studied at the School of Architecture in Paris and later at the Institute of Painting in Montparnasse.

In 1955, he was selected as one of the ten most representative contemporary painters at the "Witness Painters of the Era" exhibition, along with Buffet and Clave.

1956: Awarded the Legion of Honor

1958: Awarded the Order of Arts and Culture

1976: Commemorative stamps of Karzuk are released.

In 1977, he was elected a member of the Academie Beaux-Arts of the Institut de France.

Museums that hold his works: Hermitage Museum, University of Michigan Art Museum, Chicago Art Institute, San Francisco Art Museum, etc.

Died in Marsac-sur-L'Isle, France in 2000
