Collection: Marie Laurencin

Born in Paris in 1883. She socialized with Pablo Picasso and the poet Guillaume Apollinaire at the "Bateau-Lavoir" in Montmartre, and was influenced by Cubism in her early works. She eventually established her unique style with elegant female figures rendered in soft pastel colors and delicate lines, becoming a leading female painter of the École de Paris. She is one of the most popular female painters of the 20th century. She passed away in Paris in 1956.
