Born in Landelles (Normandy), France in 1938.
He paints landscapes of his hometown Normandy, the Atlantic coast of Brittany, Paris, and Venice. His use of gentle colors may not create a strong initial impact, but it gradually permeates the heart, evoking a sense of wonder at everyday scenes bathed in soft light.
He began painting in his childhood. His paintings are an expression of "eternal happiness." In his world, everything is enveloped in a gentle, subtle light. His paintings belong to the tradition of French art. Like all Impressionist painters, he expresses natural light and shadow and the emotions nature evokes with delicate touches, certainty of tone, and authentic colors. Entering a Margray painting is like taking a stroll down a forest path on a summer's day.
The beauty of form, flowing tones, and color accents are the secrets of his clear paintings. Down to the texture, it is as if one is in a concrete and colorful dream world.
Exhibitions held in galleries throughout France, including galleries in Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris's luxury boutique district. Recipient of the Special Award for Art, Science, and Culture.
He has also gained popularity in Japan by holding exhibitions at famous department stores such as Mitsukoshi and Daimaru.
