In 2000, Michel Henry granted me the exclusive rights to produce original lithographs and to sell his work in Japan.
Here, we will explain the printing technique called silkscreen printing. Silkscreen printing is a type of perforated printing technique, and in a word, it is a technique in which color seeps through the mesh of silk cloth and is transferred to paper or cloth.
Originally silk was used, but silk is no longer used. Instead, the technique of transferring color that seeps through a screen with holes in it in various ways to paper is called silkscreen, screenprint, or serigraph. As the name silkscreen is commonly used in the art field, we have adopted the name silkscreen here.

The silkscreen technique was invented in England in the early 20th century and was used commercially, but after Americans Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein produced their own original silkscreens in the 1960s, it became an art technique, and specialized art silkscreen studios in the United States and Israel became famous.

Silkscreen printing is a technique that allows you to apply color thickly. Michel Henry is a painter with a strikingly beautiful matière (the beauty of the paint's shape), so silkscreen printing allows you to express not only the color but also the paint's matière.
In other words, silkscreen printing is more suitable than lithography to express the appeal of Michel Henry's oil paintings. Lithography transfers the colors painted on a stone plate, but the colors can only be applied thinly.
Michel Henry and Galerie Adeka collaboration Michel Henry's original silk screen "Roman Window"
I have decided to produce four works together with G of Gallery FA, a print sales company in Paris. Previously, I produced six original lithographs in sizes 6 to 8 for a Japanese print wholesaler, but this time the original serigraphs are twice as large, about 12 to 16. We will produce four works in a limited run of 200, and I will print 100 copies of each and G will take on 100 copies.

France has a history of original lithographs dating back to the 19th century, and famous artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Mucha, Laurencin, Chagall, Picasso, Rouault, and Miro have produced lithographs. There are high-quality lithograph workshops, but the quality of silkscreen workshops is not high.
Lithograph workshop in Paris
The work was commissioned to the same Israeli workshop that produced Michel Henry's original silkscreens in the 1980s, a Parisian art dealer said.
Michel Henry also went to Israel. His workshop was exhibiting at a show in Frankfurt, Germany, so I went to meet him. Afterwards, the couple who own the workshop came to Japan and we had a meeting.
A collaboration between Galerie Adeka and Michel Henry. Michel Henry silkscreen print "Coquelicot of Venice" signed in pencil in an Israeli studio. Currently sold out.
The works I created were "Art Bridge in Paris", "A Window in Rome", "Coquelicot in Venice", and "Bouquet in Venice". As expected, the works were of high quality, and Michel Henry, G of the FA gallery in Paris, and I both received the award.
It was immediately exhibited at the Michel Henry exhibition at Ikebukuro Mitsukoshi and was a big hit.
