Raymond Peynet became famous by publishing illustrations in French and British magazines, and he also illustrated literary works and decorated plays and ballet exhibitions. When he saw the open-air music hall in the French city of Valence in 1942, he had the image of a musician and his lover in his mind, and the kiosk (open-air music hall) lovers published in the magazine became extremely popular, and Peynet's Lovers series was serialized, making Peynet's Lovers famous both in France and abroad. A French toy manufacturer released Peynet dolls, which became famous among the masses, and the German company Rosenthal produced and sold Peynet's pottery and tableware, which are still sold today. He also produced many drawings, paintings, and prints as works of art, and the Japanese Galerie Adeka continues to sell his original prints. Princess Grace of Monaco is a fan of Peynet and has collected all of the Peynet doll series released by French manufacturers. In Japan, department stores and other stores have planned Peynet exhibitions to coincide with Valentine's Day.

In Antibes, on the French Cote d'Azur, there is the Raymond Peynet and Humorous Painters Museum. It is owned and operated by the city of Antibes along with the adjacent Picasso Museum, and is an important cultural and tourist resource for the city. Antibes, along with Saint-Tropez, Cannes, and Nice, is an important part of the luxury resorts that stretch from the French Cote d'Azur to the Italian Riviera. Many artists live in the Cote d'Azur, and there are several famous art museums. Nice has museums of Chagall, Matisse, and Duffy, and Cannes does not have an art museum, but the famous Cannes International Film Festival is held every year, as well as many other international events. And in Antibes, the Peynet and Humorous Painters Museum and the Picasso Museum were built next to the yacht harbor, and many tourists visit them. According to the museum director in 2019, because there is a Peynet museum in Japan, the proportion of Japanese visitors to the Peynet and Humorous Painters Museum in Antibes was relatively high, but recently Peynet's popularity has increased in China, with dolls of his work being manufactured and sold there, and the number of Chinese visitors has been increasing.

I, Takeda Yasuhiro of Galerie Adeka, was asked by the Peynet Museum in Karuizawa to visit the Raymond Peynet and Humorous Museum in Antibes several times in the 2010s as an exchange ambassador between the Peynet Museum in Karuizawa and the Raymond Peynet and Humorous Museum in Antibes, and exchanged opinions with the director of the museum and Peynet's daughter, Annie Peynet.

2. Karuizawa Peinet Museum

There are Peynet museums in Japan, in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, and Mimasaka, Okayama Prefecture. The Peynet museum in Karuizawa is located in Taliesin, a cultural theme park. Taliesin is made up of the Peynet Museum, Karuizawa Kogen Bunko Library, Tomiko Asabuki Museum, the English Garden, the villas of famous prewar writers Takeo Arishima, Michizo Tachihara, Tatsuo Hori, and Yaeko Nogami, and the Beniko Fukazawa Flower Museum. Every summer, flower artist Shogo Kariyazaki holds an event in the English Garden. The Peynet Museum is housed in a "summer house" built at the current location by the famous Czech architect Anton Raymon, who came to Japan with American architect Lloyd, one of the world's three greatest architects, and was involved in the construction of the Imperial Hotel and Tokyo Woman's Christian University. The Peynet Museum is also a tourist attraction in Karuizawa, a high-end resort town in Japan.

Galerie Adeka operated a French painting and print gallery called Gallery Ving de France at the Karuizawa Prince Hotel and related facilities for 20 years from 1995 to 2015. I planned and implemented various events for Karuizawa together with the Prince Hotel and the town of Karuizawa. As I was the world's number one collector of Raymond Peynet prints, spoke good French, and made many business trips to France, I was asked by the Peynet Museum to lead an exchange mission with the Peynet Museum in Antibes.

3. Valentine Park, Raymond Peynet's theme park in Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture

In 1988, Sakuto Town (now Mimasaka City) became a sister city with the French city of Valentine, and in 1998, Sakuto Valentine Park, a multi-purpose park with the theme of "love," was completed. In the center of the park, a statue of Raymond Peynet's lovers is installed, and the fountain is named the Fountain of Love. The Sakuto Museum of Art in the park has a collection of over 150 works by Raymond Peynet, and the Valentine Hotel, a wedding venue modeled after Peynet's lovers, is also located within the park. It has been designated a sacred place for lovers.

4. Musee Peynet, Brassac, France

There is also a Peynet Museum in Brassac-les-Mines, where Raymond Peynet's mother was born. Raymond Peynet himself stayed there as a child, and evacuated here with his wife and daughter during World War II. In 1942, Peynet went to Valence and visited the kiosk, where he gained inspiration for his painting of lovers, and he was also evacuated to Brassac at the time.

5. Love Park and the Peine Memorial in Valentine, France

The city of Valentine (Saint Valentin) in France has become a sacred place for lovers because of its name. In Japan, February 14th is Valentine's Day, when women express their feelings to men. It is also a day of love in Europe. The origin of Valentine's Day comes from the Christian priest "Saint Valentinus". There are many priests in history who bear the name Valentinus, but it is said that the name originated from Father Valentinus of the 3rd century Roman Empire. Below is an episode about the love of his lovers. In the 3rd century Roman Empire, Emperor Claudius banned marriage to maintain the bravery of his soldiers. Father Valentinus hid young men and women and married them against the emperor's orders. The emperor found out about this and Father Valentinus was executed on February 14th. He went down in history as a saint who risked his life to protect the love of young people. Because of this episode, Saint Valentinus is revered as the "patron of love". February 14th, the day he died, became "Love Day." The city of Valentine in France has become a sanctuary for lovers, with a memorial museum for Raymond Peynet, who painted the love between lovers, and a kiosk (outdoor music hall) symbolizing Peynet's lovers in the "Love Park." It is a sister city with Mimasaka City in Japan, where the love theme park "Valentine Park Sakuto" is located. Valentine's Day on February 14th is a day of "love" not only in France and Japan, but all over the world.

6. Raymond Peynet's Monument of Love and Peace in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

In 1989, the Hiroshima Sea and Islands Expo was held, and a statue of lovers, supervised by Raymond Peynet, called the Monument of Love and Peace, was installed at the site. After the exposition, the city of Hiroshima purchased it and installed it in Hiroshima Peace Park as a symbol of love and peace. Even now, Peynet's Monument of Love and Peace in Hiroshima Peace Park, where the Atomic Bomb Dome is located, continues to send a message of love and peace to visitors from all over the world.

7. Peine's Concert Hall in Valence

When Raymond Peynet visited the city of Valence in 1942, he was inspired to paint a picture of a musician playing the violin and his lover while looking at the Kiosque de musique in the park. That was the moment when Peynet's Lovers were born.

The current Kiosque de musique de Peynet in Valence is now Peynet's music hall.

3: Raymond Peynet's paintings, drawings, original lithographs and etchings

Peynet was an illustrator and published illustrations for newspapers and other publications, but not many of his original works remain. He never thought of selling his originals, so he gave them away or scattered them. His original lithograph prints have been published twice. The first time was in 1985, when Mr. Muret, the president of a printmaking company in Nice, published about 35 original lithographs at the same time. This was the year that the French government issued commemorative stamps for Peynet , and at the same time, Raymond Peynet's original lithographs were produced and released. Mr. Muret produced a series of etchings of the 12 zodiac signs in 1978. Each work is an original work signed by Raymond Peynet and limited to a certain number of copies. Later, in the 1990s, Mr. Agostini, the son of the painter Tony Agostini, produced and released about 10 original lithographs.

In 1992, seven years after the release of Raymond Peynet's prints, Mr. Muret, the distributor of Raymond Peynet's original lithographs and original etchings, passed away. Through the intermediation of my junior colleague and Mr. Muret's nephew, Alexander Tokar, Galerie Adeka purchased a total of 5,000 copies of Raymond Peynet's original lithographs and original etchings, of which about 10,000 copies remained in the warehouse. The Raymond Peynet original lithographs and original etchings sold by Galerie Adeka were purchased directly from Mr. Alexandre Tokar of Editions des Cercles by Madame Muret, the publisher and distributor at that time.

Description: In 1942, Raymond Peynet was inspired by an open-air music kiosk in the city of Valence, France, and drew his first illustration of "Peynet's Lovers," which was published in the magazine Luc et Lac. Peynet continued to paint lovers from then on. The painting of lovers playing the violin in an open-air music kiosk can be said to be the origin of Peynet's paintings. In the kiosk, the woman is knitting for her boyfriend, a musician playing the violin, and her knitting becomes sheet music. A dove helps out with a ball of yarn. Around the kiosk are trees and their leaves. The lovers' love and harmony with nature, including animals and plants, are depicted in a peaceful and tranquil setting. Galerie Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

Commentary: The piece to be performed at the Academie de Musique is written as Mozart's Magic Flute. Many European countries established national music academies and contributed to the promotion of music. The French music academy is now the Paris Opera, but this is the music academy in the fairy tale world of Raymond Peynet's paintings. Mozart stayed in Paris twice, met the king, and composed and released the Paris Symphony. His mother also stayed in Paris, so the French feel a sense of closeness to Mozart. In terms of musical tastes, the French prefer Mozart's decorative and refined music to the extravagant music of Beethoven and others. The Magic Flute is an opera about a prince rescuing a princess and marrying her, so it fits the image of the lovers in the painting perfectly. It is interesting that the piece is the opera Magic Flute and the venue is the Paris Music Academie, which subtly matches the historical facts. The work is filled with a happy atmosphere, depicting the scene of Peinet's lovers leaving the venue while being congratulated by everyone.

3: <Little Bird Basket>

Original lithograph signed by the artist

Limited edition: 250 copies and EA version, produced in 1985

Image size: 52 x 3 cm Frame size: 76 x 61 cm

Description: Peynet's lovers face each other in a field. The man is feeding a bird that has taken up residence on the woman's chest. The woman seems simple and humble. The basket she is holding contains flowers blooming on the ground. They must have come to pick these flowers. The colors used are similar, such as the clear blue sky, green (a shade between blue and yellow), and pink (a shade between blue and red), creating a stable and calm harmony of colors. The light brown clothes give a sense of calm. There is a castle-like building in the distance, but it is not a castle; it is a collection of small houses. It is inhabited by ordinary people. Does the bird that has taken up residence on her chest want to fly away with her to a more glamorous world? Yes, it seems to be happily pecking at the offerings of the man who does not seem to be very wealthy. Although it is humble, the gentle-looking man adds love to the calm nature and peaceful daily life. You can feel Raymond Peynet's loving gaze. It seems that lovers in Peine's world have something more important than money or fame.

As he waits for a long time, ivy has wrapped around his body and the chair. The harsh winter has ended and spring has arrived. The wait has finally been worth it, as she arrives. Riding a bird, her hair fluttering in the spring breeze, on a large bird. He is still unaware of her arrival. Where did she come from? Did she sneak out of the castle on the hill? The green of early spring is fresh. From now on, as early summer approaches, it will become a more fiery, dark green. Spring for Peynet's lovers is just around the corner. Description: Raymond Peynet's lovers are in Venice. The woman whispers, "You won't find a more loving couple in the world than we are!" The man replies, "No, there is another couple. Look in the water!" Their embrace is reflected on the surface of the water. Beyond the water gate, the tower of Venice's famous St. George's Church can be seen. Europeans have been so moved by the beauty of Venice that they have been saying since ancient times, "See Venice before you die," and this has continued to this day. Thomas Mann, a German novelist active in the first half of the 20th century, gave the title "Death in Venice" to a novel that describes the feelings of Gustav Mahler, a composer from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, for a beautiful boy he met in Venice. Small birds, squirrels, grass and trees watch over them. The simple house on the water gate is perfect for them. With the world's most beautiful floating city of Venice as a backdrop, the world's most loving lovers meet in the sea of Venice to confirm their love and get drunk on love. Description: Raymond Peynet's lovers are sitting on giant pigeons, reading a poem and shedding tears. The poem they are reading is "Autumn" by the 19th century Symbolist poet Paul Verlaine. The poem goes something like this: "Hearing the sound of a violin on an autumn day makes me feel sad, and when the sound of church bells is added, I feel even more sentimental. I am reminded of happy days gone by and I am overcome with tears." The trees in the background have shed their last leaves of the year. Angels that have landed on the trees are also playing violins, giving melody to Verlaine's delicate poem. The sad autumn, Verlaine's poem, and the sound of the violin, the fading seasons and memories tremble in the heart. Even the pigeons on the lovers' bench are holding back tears. The owl, perhaps not feeling too sentimental, just stares blankly with its wide eyes open. Autumn passes for Peynet's lovers. Galerie Adeka Yasuhiro Takeda

I'll give you my bronchitis, and we'll both take the same medicine!" This is Place de la Filsambert, located behind the Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris. There is a bench in a small space in the middle of a busy shopping district. In summer, it is a place of relaxation where many people gather, but now it is covered in snow and continues to fall. Night falls, and the street lights cast a faint light on the white snow. The people of the town hurry home. Neither the darkness of the night nor the cold of the snow can separate the lovers. You can feel Peynet's warm feelings as he watches over them. This may be an image of Raymond Peynet himself in his youth. Love will win. Galerie Adeka, Takeda Yasuhiro

8. Love Cocktail

Original lithograph signed by the artist

Limited edition: 250 copies and EA edition Produced in 1985

Image size: 52 x 38 cm Frame size: 76 x 61 cm

Description: Peynet's lovers meet in the forest. A man opens an outdoor bar in the early summer forest. A male bartender makes cocktails, and an angel and a little bird serve the drinks. An attractive female customer wearing a hat made of wildflowers orders a cocktail based on morning dew, with the scent of lily of the valley, the May sunshine, and your kindness. On the counter, a squirrel has just finished drinking the cocktail. The angel waiter is about to fly off to deliver the order to the customer in the forest. The unidentified little bird is tugging vigorously at the hem of the customer's pink dress, but its intention is unclear. Two doves are embracing each other above the bartender's head. A pair of Peynet trees (trees with branches and leaves that frequently appear in Peynet's paintings) are painted on both sides of the painting. On the ground, fragrant lilies of the valley are singing and dancing towards the sky. Feeling the soft, beautiful May breeze on your whole body, take a deep breath of the fresh forest air and stretch your arms out towards the sky and sunlight. From the end of April to the beginning of May, Parisian florists all put lilies of the valley on their shelves. The lilies of the valley bring the sunlight of the early summer forest to the streets of Paris. This is the joyous world of Peynet, full of sunlight. Galerie Adeka Yasuhiro Takeda

Description: Peynet's lovers embrace in a small house at the foot of a hill. It is a small house that you cannot even stand in unless you open the window in the roof. There is a small garden surrounded by a low fence around the house. Cats, small birds, butterflies, snails, and even a turtle lying upside down live in the garden. There are also low plants planted. A large palace stands on top of the hill. In that palace, people dressed in gorgeous clothes are likely living luxurious lives. Now, let's listen to the lovers' conversation. Woman: ``I'm glad you found a nice house. It has a garden and you can see the sky.'' Poet: ``Living there together seems even more luxurious than a palace.'' A peaceful, calm life of love and trust, surrounded by nature and small animals - what a fulfilling and luxurious life it must be. Description: Raymond Peynet's lovers meet even in dreams. When the man is late for an appointment, he says, "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your dream time. The Milky Way was congested, so I'm late." In Saint-Exupery's picture book, the Little Prince is a boy, but in Peynet's Little Prince, he seems to be a lover. What planet did he come from? Which planet, in which galaxy, does she live on? Maybe it's Earth? There are about 200,000 planets in the entire universe that are habitable for life. Earth is one in 200,000. Do the inhabitants of the dream world also come from other planets? Far beyond her bed, you can see many spires and domes. You can also see a building that looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, so it seems like Italy. In the forest where she lives, there are small birds, woodpeckers, pigeons, ladybugs, and Peynet trees sprouting up everywhere. All the usual friends from Peynet's world make an appearance in the dream world. The bright blue and sparkling white stardust are striking.

Description: Peynet's lovers are poor, but they live for love. A man inserts a heart into the gap under the front door of a small old house. Is it a love message? Or is it a poem dedicated to her? She watches from the window. Will his love be accepted? Where did he meet her? Did he see her working at a store in town? Have they known each other since childhood? How long has he thought of her? The little birds and doves perched on his head and back encourage him. The trees around the poor house also watch over him. The pretty flowers growing in the garden also support him. I remember words I heard in Japan more than 50 years ago. ``Because I'm poor, all I can give you is the soft wind of May and my heart that loves me with all its might. But will you marry me?'' These were lines from a movie that depicted the story of people who are poor but live honestly, loving their families. Do the things that are important not change even as times change? If she opened her eyes, she would notice the small flower that her lover has offered her. Behind them, a woman in a wedding dress and a man in formal attire are walking, all well-dressed. They appear to be on the way to or from a wedding. The wedding party is also watching the lovers from afar. Because the display counter is narrow, the woman in the forest shows off a bird on a very attractive perch that sticks out from her chest. The woman calls out to the seller, "Is there a bird you like? We also have owls and pigeons!", but the man seems to be fascinated by the perch on the woman's chest, and does not move his eyes from there. The man asks, "I want those two small yellow birds. Can you sell me the perch as well?" So, what is the woman's answer? The orange sun in the gaping space in the middle of the branches and leaves of a pair of trees painted in moss green and the intense red of the woman's suit are impressive. The red, yellow, and pink colors of the birds and flowers fly around, giving the piece a rhythmic and fun feel. The bright color of the sky behind the woman gives the whole painting a sense of brightness.

Raymond Peynet - "The Bird Fisherman" original lithograph print, signed by the artist, with frame, limited to 250 copies, image size 52x38cm, frame size 76x61cm, produced in 1985

Synopsis: Peynet's lovers are relaxing by the river in spring. The man is fishing by the stream. His girlfriend is knitting nearby. There is no fish basket to put the fish he has caught in. There are many small birds perched on the fishing pole. They seem to be cheering on his fishing. Some are even keeping watch in the water. The lovers spend a peaceful day slowly by the spring waterside. Small flowers are blooming all around the lovers, watching over them. In 1974, France and Italy jointly produced an animated film called "Peynet's World Travels of Love", and NTT edited this animation into a promotional video for television. In the video, the birds perched on the fishing pole fly away one after another. I long for a leisurely day spent by the quiet water with my fishing line dangling. Especially a happy day with a cute lover. Galerie Adeka Yasuhiro Takeda

Description: Peynet's lovers face each other in late autumn. The leaves of the deciduous trees have fallen, leaving only a few brown leaves. In the middle of the park there is an empty kiosk, with a few empty chairs scattered around. Beyond the kiosk, the trees in the park are a beautiful golden yellow. The birds, squirrels and turtles around the lovers are also dyed in autumn colors. In the deserted park, the man is sending his girlfriend a love message with a heart-shaped heart and wings. She opens her arms to receive the man's heart. The heart the man throws has wings. If he doesn't take it seriously, will it run away somewhere? Love is passionate and passionate, but perhaps it is also fickle. Just like the changing seasons! If we don't take it seriously and nurture it into love, winter will soon arrive and swallow it all up. Galerie Adeka Yasuhiro Takeda

Raymond Peynet - "Moonlit Night of Love" original littoral print, signed by the artist [framed], limited to 250 copies, image size 52x38cm, frame size 76x61cm, created in 1985.

Synopsis: Peynet's couple have arrived at a seaside hotel on their honeymoon. From the window they can see yachts floating on the sea and the hills on the opposite shore. A crescent moon and an angel have descended into the room accompanied by a star and a small bird, congratulating the couple. The man is embracing his precious girlfriend. She has wavy blond hair and big, bright eyes. Her expression is innocent and adorable. They seem to have grown up wealthy. The man does not give the impression of being poor either. They both have the air of well-off children of good families on their honeymoon at a seaside resort, making them a wealthy couple in the world of Raymond Peynet. Love and happiness come equally to both the poor and the rich. Galerie Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

Synopsis: A lover falls from the sky into a small house built on a hill. As soon as he sees her, he says, "I realize I can't live without you." The three suitcases and umbrella beside him seem to be all he owns. It's perfect for this small house. Countless heart marks remain in the sky as the lover flies in, like jet stream traces. All the surrounding trees are wearing new green leaves, and the tulips in the garden are in bloom. Small flowers, butterflies, owls, birds, rabbits, a turtle with a snail on its back, and other hill friends seem to be enjoying the soft spring light. Peynet's lovers begin a new life in this small house. Galerie Adeka by Takeda Yasuhiro

Raymond Peynet [Hotel Ursa Minor] Original littlraffic print, signed by the artist [Limited to 250 framed copies, image size 52x38cm, frame size 76x61cm, produced in 1985

Description: It seems that the world of Raymond Peynet exists in heaven too. The name of this hotel is written as Grand Hotel du Ciel et de la petite Ourse. It literally means the Grand Hotel in the sky of the Little Bear. An angel and a dove welcome the lovers with wings on their backs. The angel asks the lovers, "Is it for one night? Long term?" There is no legend in either Christianity or Greek mythology that the Little Bear is heaven, so this is a story from the world of Peynet. The lovers became angels because they had wings. They must have lived good lives, even if they were simple, doing nothing bad, hating nothing, loving nothing, and telling no lies. If they lived in this hotel, would they become real angels with a halo of light above their heads, like the angel who welcomed them? The work is generally in calm blue-gray tones, but the pale skin tones around the angel and the orange stardust are the only warm colors. The violet of the woman's skirt is also impressive. I feel like I want to see inside this hotel. It must be a fun hotel. Galerie Adeka Yasuhiro Takeda

Commentary: Raymond Peynet's comment on this painting is, "The weather forecast says that rain from the weeping willows will envelop them." This park seems to be full of weeping willows. Weeping willows are lined up as far as the eye can see. On the park path, iron chairs, the kind found in any park in France, are painted. Under the willows in the foreground, a couple are cuddling up together. An angel is holding a black umbrella over the couple. Under the umbrella, small birds are taking shelter from the rain on their arms, shoulders and at their feet. Among the other willows, people are also holding black umbrellas. In Peynet's world of weeping willows, lovers and small birds are enjoying shelter from the rain. Galerie Adeka, Takeda Yasuhiro

Description: A couple by Raymond Peynet are getting married. The deep forest is covered with Peynet trees (these are trees that appear in Peynet's paintings, not an actual tree variety). An angel is blessing the wedding couple, a man who appears to be an artist, and his bride. All around, small birds, including doves, squirrels, and even snails, are taking part in the love ceremony. Another couple can be seen on the other side of the forest. This seems to be the forest wedding venue for lovers. I hope that this forest path will be a path to happiness for all couples. Raymond Peynet [Angel Fortune Telling] Original lithograph print Signed by the artist [Framed] Limited to 600 copies Image size 57x38cm Frame size 86x61cm Produced in 1985

Synopsis: It seems that Peinet's lovers are meeting in the park. Sitting on a chair in the park, the man, who appears to be an artist, is tired of waiting for her and starts fortune telling with angel wings. She keeps telling his fortune - "will he come" or "will he not come", "she loves me" or "she doesn't love me" - so the space under the chair is filled with angel feathers. The first angel has lost most of her wings and is crying. The second angel's wings are also getting fewer. But the angels seem to be blessing the lovers. When angel wings are pulled out, they grow back into new ones. The poet is telling his fortune while helping the angel grow new wings. Just as new, clean wool grows after a sheep's wool is cut, angel wings also grow back. In a few months, he will meet an angel with new wings. The girl in the pink dress is already close to meeting her. Galerie Adeka Yasuhiro Takeda

Description: A couple are sitting on a leaf-covered swing hanging from a giant, sleepy-eyed fish airship. The woman is sitting on the man's lap and holding onto the swing with one hand. D-Person is holding the woman's waist. Above and below the fish airship fly strange birds that look like winged fish. They are unusually stocky for flying fish. As they are flying over the sea, they may be a mutated flying fish. A medieval or early modern sailing ship floats on the sea, and ancient buildings are depicted on the island. The overall painting is a calm fairy tale world painted with a dark brie base. Galerie Adeka Takeda

Raymond Peynet [Heart to Heart] Original Lithograph Print Signed by the Artist [Framed] Limited to 250 copies Image size 52x38cm Frame size 76x61cm Produced in 1985 Lithography is a printmaking technique invented in 18th century Europe, and European painters actively produced original lithograph works from the 19th to 20th centuries. Raymond Peynet was the most popular illustrator in France in the 20th century, and has several museums in France and Japan. Depicting the love between lovers, and always surrounded by small animals, trees and flowers, Peynet's works convey a message of love and peace, and empathy for small animals and plants leads to environmental protection. In Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a sculpture of lovers by Peynet is placed as a symbol of world peace. This print was produced in France as a series in 1985. Of course it is new. It has sold out in France, and only second-hand items are available on the market.

Description: Lovers sitting on a park bench are showing each other their hearts. Are they confiding their feelings to each other? Are they opening the window to their hearts to let in some fresh air? If our hearts had such convenient windows, there would be no misunderstandings between lovers. Even our depressed and tired hearts sometimes need to open the window to let in some fresh air. There is a symmetrical tree behind the couple, and there are smaller trees on both sides, making the composition symmetrical. In the background on the right is a music hall (kiosk), which symbolizes Peynet's lovers, and a male musician is playing the violin, looking lonely by himself. Small birds and small flowers are congratulating the lovers who have courageously opened the window of their hearts. Galerie Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

Description: A couple sits facing each other in a bedroom at night after their wedding. The man has a book open. The title of the book is Education Sentimentalle. In Japanese, it is called Sentimental Education. This is the title of a novel by the 19th century French author Gustave Flaubert. The story is like a memoir of the love affairs of a young man from the countryside in the mid-19th century, and does not have much of a chaste ideology. The French prefer refined elegance to purity. People are refined through various experiences, but perhaps elegance is refined through many love affairs. Small birds, dogs, and angels have come to the bed bearing bouquets to congratulate Peynet's lovers. Outside the window, you can see a densely packed building with domes from the old days. I would like to celebrate the couple's departure together. Galerie Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

Original lithograph signed by the artist

Limited edition: 250 copies and EA Produced in 1985

Image size 52x38cm Frame size 76x61cm

Description: A couple is standing in front of a slightly old door. The door is symmetrical, with a heart at the top center and an Art Deco decoration. There are identical circular pillars on both sides of the door. In front of both pillars, there are similarly shaped plants, creating a symmetrical composition. The woman is on the left and the man on the right, corresponding to this symmetrical composition. The woman's dress has a slit in the center, from which a voluminous amount of breast milk is spilling out. Her nipples are covered with black umbrellas. If you look closely, you can see that her breast milk is in a small house-like box. The man has taken off his hat and is looking at the woman's breast milk with respect. In French, when you praise something, you say Bravo. It means wonderful. When you are moved at a concert, you will shout "Borabo" enthusiastically. It can also be called chapeau. Chapeau means hat. It is an expression of respect, and in Japanese, when you say "Tsubo da" it means "wonderful" or "I'm impressed," but in French it also means "tsubo da." The man is probably expressing respect for the beauty of women and breast milk, a symbol of feminine charm. Galerie Adeka Yasuhiro Takeda

Description: Lovers are standing beside a bed. The man has his arms around the woman's waist, holding her in his arms. Wings sprout from their hearts before their bodies and fly out from their bodies, inviting them onto the bed. A pair of doves are also clinging to each other on the pillow. A pair of angels are also guiding the couple by the wall above the bed. The woman is dressed in a serious manner and appears nervous. The man has a slightly suspicious air about him, more like a lover than a lover. Perhaps the lovers have some complicated reasons for being together. A small castle can be seen outside the window. It is built on flat ground, so it may be a castle on the banks of the Loire River, not far from Paris. In any case, the angel is giving their blessing. May happiness be with the mysterious lovers. Description: A naked blonde woman is walking through a small room with the window wide open. The man, still fully clothed, is saying something. Just outside the window, the tree that always appears in Peynet's paintings has its branches spread wide. Small birds have gathered among the leaves and are watching the room. Some of the birds hurriedly fly over. The woman's breasts and buttocks are sexy and attractive. Perhaps she is attractive even to the birds. So what is the relationship between this beautiful nude woman and the man standing there fully clothed? The French dislike stuffiness and have no major qualms about being seen naked, so perhaps she is an ordinary office lady? It might be fun to use your imagination and create a story for this painting. Description: In a corner of a park-like green space with trees, protected from the wind and rain by the shade of the trees, there is a pair of wicker chairs. The painting has a symmetrical composition with the center, a composition that Peinet often uses. The tree-covered screen is also symmetrical, as is the tree in the background. The man and woman and the wicker chairs they are sitting on form a pair of objects on the left and right. In the deep green of early summer, the lovers seem to be engaged in a conversation. The woman is talking, and the man looks down and listens to her. Small birds of various colors are perched on the trees behind the screen. A squirrel has come down to her wicker chair and is listening to her. On the ground, a plant with light blue flowers is blooming. It is a peaceful scene under a pleasant, clear summer sky. The woman's breasts have been removed and are being held preciously by the man. New buds are emerging from the woman's breast milk that the man is holding. Was he holding it for a long time? They are still wearing their wedding dresses and wedding veils. The time has finally come for them to release their tension and relax. The woman seems to be concerned about her husband and is saying something. The man seems a little depressed, perhaps because he is tired, but still has his hands around her waist. Synopsis: A fierce storm has arrived. The couple's small old house seems to have been blown away by the storm and is now stuck in a tree. The windows are broken and the door has been knocked off. The roof is torn and has holes in it, and the skylight is broken. The couple stand on their small balcony, frightened by the raging storm. All around them, a girl with an umbrella is flying away in the wind. The roof of the house next door has also been broken and blown away. The wind seems to be blowing from left to right, and the trees and grass are distorted significantly to the left. The cat has also been blown away by the wind, looking surprised. Even the chair and underwear are flying in the wind. Though the couple are frightened on the balcony, the man holds the woman tightly in his arms to support her. It is in times of storms that the couple's love becomes stronger. Galerie Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

Description: The party is full of excitement. Men and women gathered on the clouds are absorbed in making love. Their faces are flushed pink, their eyes are dreamy and they are in high spirits. A man puts his hand on a woman's breast, a man is reaching for a woman's butt, couples are embracing passionately, and two people have their lips locked. It is truly a lovers' paradise. Countless hearts are flying around the lovers. A couple of doves are also embracing each other. The angel seems to be screaming in the heat. The man has inserted a heart between the breast milk. Both women appear to be in a passionate mood. Their faces are flushed and pink. The pink color beautifully matches the pink stripes of the sofa. The flowers in the four corners of the painting of a musician in a kiosk decorating the wall and the heart on the kiosk also resonate with each other in the same pink. This is a symmetrical composition, which is a favorite of Peynet. Raymond Peynet [Aries] Original etching, monochrome, autographed by the artist [framed] Image size 52 x 38 cm

Explanation: In Greek mythology, Aries is said to be a golden flying ram sent by Zeus to save a prince who was about to be killed by his stepmother. Aries is the first of the 12 zodiac signs, so Taurus people are said to radiate fresh energy. They have a strong drive and spirit of challenge, hate to lose, and have the mental strength to accomplish things, but because they value their own intuition and try to get their way, they are said to be poor at cooperation and can easily get excited and lose interest quickly.

The face of an Aries is painted large in the center of the painting, and its body is depicted as the sea and an old sailing ship sailing on the water. The lower right depicts buildings and gondolas that are symbolic of Venice. At the bottom left of the painting, a man is making courtship gestures to a woman standing in front of a green tree. Venice was a trading centre during the Renaissance. It would have been from here that the man set out on his perilous sea voyage. It is a fantastical painting that evokes the adventurous spirit of Aries. Gallery Adeka, Takeda Yasuhiro

Explanation: In Greek mythology, Zeus, the Greek god, transformed himself into a bull to abduct Europa, the daughter of the Phoenician king, and that bull is said to represent Taurus. Taurus people have a calm, peaceful personality and are cooperative, but also have a strong will and perseverance. They are also blessed with sensitivity and love to own beautiful things, so they are said to have strong materialistic desires.

A large merry-go-round is painted in the centre, and in the middle of the carousel a bull is carrying the lovers. This is not a merry-go-round, but a spinning bull. The roof is supported by a pair of trees with their leaves fallen. Small birds are perched on the trees, as if congratulating the lovers. A sun- and moon-like human face is painted in the centre of the roof, and underneath it the world seems to be depicted, with the buildings of Venice, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the temple of Athens, as well as mountains and trees. The lovers are probably riding the bull to travel all over the world. A bull dressed in a suit stands on the top of the roof, dragging a gold flag. Perhaps it is a guide for the lovers on their world trip? Galerie Adeka, Takeda Yasuhiro

Explanation: In Greek mythology, Zeus, the Greek god, made his children, the brothers Castor and Borkus, into Gemini so that they could always be together. Gemini people are said to have excellent communication skills, curiosity, expressiveness, and drive. They have a wide range of expressive abilities, including artistic and interesting expressions, but they also tend to get bored easily and restless.

A woman stands in the square between a pair of small, long, two-storey houses, and two male twins on either side of them are courting her, holding out their hearts. Both houses appear to be small and poor. Towels are hanging out to dry on a clothesline stretched between the two houses, and a cat is balancing an umbrella on the line while a small bird looks on. Domes and spires can be seen between the houses. This may be inside an old city. The moon is out in the sky, casting a soft light. The brightness may be just right for this simple scene of the twins' courtship. Galerie Adeka, Takeda Yasuhiro

Image size: 52 x 38 cm Frame size: 76 x 61 cm

Raymond Peynet [Cancer] Original Etching Signed by the Artist [Framed] Image Size 52 x 38 cm

Explanation: In Greek mythology, it is said that the crab monster crushed by the hero Hercules became the sign of Cancer. Cancer people are full of love and value their family and friends, so they do not express their rich emotions but are considerate of those around them. On the other hand, they tend to have a cool reaction to people who do not get along with them.

A giant crab with a heart-shaped shell fills the entire screen. Inside the heart-shaped shell are mountains with spires and domed buildings, symbolizing the medieval world, and in the sea below are ancient sailing ships, islands and smoking volcanic islands. Balloons and clouds float serenely in the sky. Looking closely, the outer rim of the shell surrounding the world is a green field with countless vegetation. Lovers stand on the legs beneath the shell, the man courting the woman with a love flower with a heart dangling from it. Flowers and leaves decorate the crab's legs like brocade. The moon is depicted in the top right and the sun in the top left of the screen, watching over the world and the lovers. Galerie Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

Explanation: In Greek mythology, Leo is said to be a man-eating lion that was slain by the hero Hercules. Leo people are strong, glamorous, and proud like lions, and they show their strength when they are noticed by others. They also have a strong sense of justice and are reliable, but they can also become self-centered when their pride is hurt.

The entire piece is painted with a lion's face and mane. The powerful presence of the kingly lion is overwhelmingly expressed. Beneath the kingly lion's face the world is depicted. Several islands covered with medieval buildings are depicted symbolically, and a medieval sailing ship is also depicted, making it seem like the ocean, but as the island is covered in clouds it also seems like an aerial city. The sailing ship might as well be an airship. On top of the clouds near the bottom of the lion's mane, or on the cloud-like island, a couple are embracing each other in a passionate embrace. It must be reassuring to be watched over by a king. Galerie Adeka, Takeda Yasuhiro

Raymond Peynet [Virgo] Original etching Signed by the artist [Framed] Medium size 52 x 38 cm

Raymond Peynet [Virgo] Original Etching, Black and White, Signed by the Artist [Framed] Image Size 52 x 38 cm

Explanation: In Greek mythology, Virgo is said to be the sister of Zeus, the Greek god, and the goddess of harvest, Demerthe. Virgo people have both the dreamy sensitivity of a young girl and the practical side of steadily realizing their ideals. They value social conventions and rules, so they can be strict with people who go against them.

Among the trees in the park, a beautiful, pure, and slightly strict-looking woman, like a nun, stands holding her lovers. Judging from the size of the lovers, they appear to be around three metres tall. She may not be human, but a goddess. Between the branches of the trees behind her, a heart-shaped sky that seems to be another dimension is painted, and doves are flying. The lovers, representing love, and the doves, a symbol of peace, probably represent the ideal of the goddess. People dressed in what appear to be medieval travellers' clothing and a medieval-style building can be seen peeking through the trees, and the small animals and flowers also seem to be taking part in this world of love and peace. Raymond Peynet [Scorpio] Original etching Signed by the artist [Framed] Image size 52 x 38 cm

Raymond Peynet [Scorpio] Original Etching, Black and White, Signed by the Artist [Framed] Image Size 52 x 38 cm

Explanation: In Greek mythology, the goddess Gaia, angry at the arrogant giant Orion, made a scorpion kill Orion. It is said that the scorpion became the constellation Scorpio. Scorpio people are reserved and do not show their emotions, but they are loving, have excellent concentration, persistence, and insight, and are devoted to those they trust, but they are jealous and aggressive towards those they are in conflict with.

A giant scorpion with large eyes is thrusting its tail into the sky in a fighting stance. A couple are sitting together on top of its curled tail. The woman is looking at the man with a passionate expression and touching his body. She is typical of a loving Scorpio woman. The ground on which the scorpion is lying appears to be sandy, but steep rocks are exposed. The distant landscape is also an island surrounded by steep rocks, with castles and spires built on it. It looks like the sea and island seen from the sandy beach where the scorpion is. A yellow sun or moon is painted in the sky, and it seems to be blessing the lovers along with the birds, other small animals, and flowers that surround them. Gallery Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

Raymond Peynet [Sagittarius] Original Etching, Black and White, Signed by the Artist [Framed]

In Greek mythology, Sagittarius is said to represent the archer Chiron, a centaur with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a horse, drawing his bow. Sagittarius people have a strong sense of adventure and exploration, think deeply about things, are not bound by preconceived notions, and act energetically and freely. They get excited easily and lose interest quickly, so they are also like love hunters who change their romantic partners one after another, so be careful.

A large tree that appears to be over 100 years old grows from the center of the bottom of the painting. The tree splits into several branches that grow like ivy and form a large circle with leaves. Within the circle surrounded by the branches and leaves, many buildings that appear to be from the Middle Ages or ancient times are densely built. There is also a building that appears to be the Roman amphitheater and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. In front of the tree are a man with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a horse, and a woman holding a small bag. He is aiming an arrow at the woman, trying to win her heart, but the woman keeps her distance, perhaps wary of his fickle and shady nature. The bag the woman is holding may contain a secret weapon to counter him.

Explanation: In Greek mythology, the cattle god Pan was chased by a monster and jumped into a river to transform into a fish, but only his tail remained. It is said that Zeus saw Pan and elevated him to the heavens as the Capricorn. People born under the Capricorn sign are said to have a serious and realistic personality, and to have a strong will to persevere in anything and see it through to the end.

In mythology, the lower half of Capricornus is a fish, but in Peinet's Capricornus, it is a conch shell floating in the air. The lovers embrace each other and enter the conch shell together, enjoying an aerial stroll. Cupid, who is thought to have brought the lovers together, is holding an umbrella over them. The goat and his lovers appear to be quite high up, with stars raining down on their heads and the moon and cities on Earth visible far below. The woman clings onto the man with all her might. Is it out of love for the man, or is she afraid of falling out of the shell airship? The woman likely entrusts herself to the steady and reliable Capricornus man with peace of mind. 10: Aquarius (January 20th to February 18th)

Color original etching & monochrome original etching 250 copies autographed by the artist and EA 1978

Image size: 52 x 38 cm Frame size: 76 x 61 cm

Raymond Peynet [Aquarius] Original Etching, Black and White, Signed by the Artist [Framed] Image Size: 52 x 38 cm

Explanation: In Greek mythology, it is said that the constellation Ganymede was a beautiful young boy who was kidnapped by the Greek god Zeus to serve him drinks. Aquarius people are creative and artistic, so they go at their own pace and don't show any interest in those around them, so they appear cool, but in reality they are philanthropists who are kind to everyone. They hate being tied down and behave freely, so they are often not understood by those around them.

From the window on the upper floor, a man is tilting a water pitcher and scattering the many hearts inside. A window is also open on the lower floor, and a woman is admiringly watching the heart blizzard. Small birds are pulling at the chest area of the woman's dress with their beaks from both sides, exposing her attractive bust. Both are captivated by the beauty of the woman, along with another small bird perched on the window bars. There are many clouds floating around the window and between the windows. The windows above and below seem to be floating in the air. The flowers on the shutters outside the window also seem to be floating in the air near the shutters, rather than attached to them. For freedom-loving, artistic Aquarius, living in the air may be more comfortable than in a building on the ground. Galerie Adeka Takeda Yasuhiro

11: Pisces (February 19th to March 20th)

Original etching, autographed by the artist

250 copies and EA Produced in 1978

Image size: 52 x 38 cm Frame size: 76 x 61 cm

Raymond Peynet [Pisces] Original etching Signed and limited edition [Framed] Image size 52 x 38 cm

Explanation: In Greek mythology, Pisces is said to be the form of two fish connected by a string, Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, and her son Eros. When they were attacked by a monster at a party on the Nile River, they tied the two together with the string so that they would not be separated. Pisces people have romantic sensibilities and a tolerant spirit, and they care for others kindly and value harmony, but they are easily influenced by others and can appear indecisive. It seems that their kindness also makes them unstable.

In legend, they are mother and son, but in this painting they are depicted as a pair of fish-man lovers with the lower body of a fish. The angel offering an umbrella to the lovers has also been transformed into the lower body of a fish. A large sailing ship is depicted, but it appears to be sunk to the bottom of the ocean, and underneath and around the ship are fish, shells, starfish, sea snakes and the offspring of a dragon. However, the fish-man lovers appear to be floating in the air, and the sun is depicted behind them. In the distance, a floating city is depicted, along with buildings such as St. Mark's Basilica and the spire of St. George's Church in Venice, as well as the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The artist is holding out his hand in a courtship gesture, but the woman looks down, seemingly undecided. Gallery Adeka, Takeda Yasuhiro
