【About the Artwork】

《Ingrid Bergman with Hat》 is a representative work from Andy Warhol's "Ingrid Bergman" series, created in 1983.

Ingrid Bergman (1915–1982) was a leading film actress of the 20th century, known for films such as "Casablanca" and "Notorious." Her elegant and intellectual beauty is still highly acclaimed worldwide.

From the 1970s to the 1980s, Warhol created numerous portraits of iconic figures of the era, including Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and Mick Jagger. This work is one of his important later portrait series, depicting Bergman's graceful profile with vivid colors and bold composition.

This series was created shortly after Bergman's death and is highly regarded as an homage to the legendary actress of cinematic history. The vibrant colors and powerful forms also demonstrate Warhol's mature Pop Art expression achieved in his later years.

Andy Warhol's Hollywood portrait works are housed in museums and major collections worldwide, maintaining consistently high popularity in the contemporary art market. As an iconic work where film history and Pop Art history intersect, 《Ingrid Bergman with Hat》 is one of the important print works representing Warhol's collection.
