Work Commentary

《Tridim》 is a representative silkscreen print that vividly demonstrates Victor Vasarely's exploration of visual illusions and spatial composition.

The title "Tridim" evokes "Three Dimensions," succinctly representing the three-dimensional visual space presented in this work. Through the regular arrangement of colorful squares and their subtle variations, a three-dimensional illusion is created, making the flat surface appear to float, expand, and draw the viewer inward.

The meticulous composition of color planes creates different spatial impressions depending on the viewer's perspective, imparting movement and tension to the static image. Through the interplay of geometry and color, Vasarely created a visual experience that challenged perception itself.
