About the Artwork

"Bi-Hexa" is a silkscreen print that vividly showcases the appeal of geometric abstraction and optical illusion pursued by Victor Vasarely.

In this work, cube-like forms composed of vividly contrasting colors unfold as if floating in three-dimensional space. The regular yet continuously circulating arrangement creates a sense of constantly shifting movement as the gaze follows, blurring the boundaries between flat and deep space.

The combination of striking colors and precise geometric structures imparts a strong tension and rhythm to the canvas, evoking dynamic motion despite being a static work. This visual fluctuation is the core of what Vasarely explored through Op Art.

While seemingly simple in composition, a highly calculated visual theory lies behind it. Viewers experience different spatial impressions with every shift of their gaze, drawing them into an active dialogue with the work.

"Bi-Hexa" is one of Vasarely's powerful and refined masterpieces, embodying his innovative formative ideas and the essence of Op Art.
