1905 - Focused on the Académie de la Palette in Paris, painting portraits and Fauvist nudes.

1910 Married painter Robert Delaunay. With her husband, she embarked on a path of poetic abstract art.

1913- 1935: Devoted herself to interior design and fashion (cushions, cardigans, dresses, lampshades, etc.) in the same style as her paintings. She also opened a shop with couturier Jacques Heim at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts (Art Deco exhibition) and a decorative arts store, Case Sonia, in Paris.

1930 - Delaunay joined "Abstraction-Création," a group that championed non-representational art.

1935-1937 Sonia Delaunay returned to painting and created wall panels.

1942 Her husband, Robert Delaunay, passed away. Sonia Delaunay went into hiding in Grasse until the end of the war.

In 1946, she co-founded and exhibited at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles with the Concrete Art Group. Sonia Delaunay founded the Espace Group. She produced paintings, prints, mosaics, stained glass, carpets, tapestries, theater sets and costumes, and picture books. While Robert and Sonia Delaunay influenced each other, they each created highly original art that wonderfully showcased their individual personalities and talents.
