Born in Gradsik, Ukraine in 1885 , his father Ilyinichna Stern was a lawyer and was adopted by his father Henri Terk, an art collector.   

1903-1904 Studied at Trier Schmidt - Reuter in Karlsruhe , Germany   

1905 - Focused on the Academy of the Palette in Paris , painting portraits and Fauvist nudes   

1908 Her first solo exhibition at the Galerie de la Renaissance in Paris featured her colorful works and marked an important step in her career as an artist . 
 

In 1910, she married the painter Robert Delaunay. Together, they began their journey in poetic abstract art.  
 

1913-1935 : In the same style as his paintings, he devoted himself to interior design and fashion (cushions, cardigans, dresses, lampshades, etc.). In 1935 , together with the couturier Jacques Aime , he opened a shop in the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs (Art Deco ) and also opened the decoration store Case Sonia in Paris.     
 

1930 -Delaune joined the group "Abstraction Creation" which defended non-representational art.  

From 1935 to 1937 Sonia Delaunay returned to painting and produced wall panels .   

 
In 1942, her husband Robert Delaunay died. Sonia Delaunay retired to Grasse until the end of the war. 
 

In 1946 she exhibited at the Salon des Réalites Nouvelles as a co-founder with the Concrete Art Group . Sonia Delaunay founded the Espace Group . Paintings , prints , mosaics, stained glass, carpets, tapestries Robert and Sonia Delaunay influenced each other , but each produced highly original art that perfectly expressed their individual personalities and talents.   

Died in Paris in 1979
