This piece is stored in a partner gallery in France. According to local (French) standards, the condition is good, but please note that the criteria for evaluating the condition of aged items may differ between France and Japan. Born in 1885 in Gradizhsk, Ukraine. Her father, Ilinitchna Stern, was a lawyer, and she was adopted by her father Henri Terk, who was a painting collector.  

1903-1904: Studied in Karlsruhe, Germany, with Trüb-Schmitt-Reuter.  

1905: Focused on the Académie de la Palette in Paris, painting portraits and Fauvist nudes.  

1908: Held her first solo exhibition at "Galerie de la Renaissance" in Paris. Her colorful works were displayed, marking an importantstep in her artistic career. 
 

1910: Married the painter Robert Delaunay. Together with her husband, she embarked on a path of poetic abstract art.  
 

1913- 1935: Dedicated herself to interior design and fashion (cushions, cardigans, dresses, lampshades, etc.) in a style essentially similar to her painting. She opened a shop with couturier Jacques Heim at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts (Art Deco exhibition) and also opened the decorative arts shop Case Sonia in Paris.   
 

1930: Delaunay participated in the "Abstraction-Création" group, which advocated for non-figurative art. 

1935-1937: Sonia Delaunay returned to painting and created wall panels.  

 
1942: Her husband, Robert Delaunay, passed away. Sonia Delaunay hid in Grasse until the end of the war. 
 

In 1946, she co-founded and exhibited at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles with the Concrete Art Group. Sonia Delaunay founded the Espace Group. She created paintings, prints, mosaics, stained glass, carpets, tapestries, theater sets and costumes, and picture books. Robert and Sonia Delaunay influenced each other, yet created highly original art that wonderfully blossomed with their individual personalities and talents.　 

She passed away in Paris in 1979.
