1885Born in Gradzhisk, Ukraine. Her father, Ilinichna Stern, was a lawyer, and she was adopted by Henri Terk, her father, a painting collector.

1903-1904Studied at Triere-Schmidt-Reuter in Karlsruhe, Germany.

1905-Focused on the Académie de la Palette in Paris, painting portraits and Fauvist nudes.

1908 Her first solo exhibition was held at "Galerie de la Renaissance" in Paris. The exhibition of her colorful works marked an important step in her artistic career.

1910Married painter Robert Delaunay. Together with her husband, she began pursuing a poetic path of abstract art.

1913-1935:Essentially in the same style as her paintings, she devoted herself to interior and fashion design (cushions, cardigans, dresses, lampshades, etc.). She also opened a shop in the couturier Jacques Heim's store at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts (Art Deco), and opened her own decorative arts shop, Case Sonia, in Paris.

In 1930, someone from the Delaunay joined "Abstraction-Création", a group that championed non-figurative art. 

From 1935 to 1937, Sonia Delaunay returned to painting and created wall panels.  

 
1942: Her husband, Robert Delaunay, passed away. Sonia Delaunay hid in Grasse until the end of the war. 
 

In 1946, she exhibited at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles as a co-founder with the Concrete Art Group. Sonia Delaunay founded the Espace Group. Robert and Sonia Delaunay, through their paintings, prints, mosaics, stained glass, carpets, and tapestries, influenced each other, but they created highly original art that wonderfully showcased their individual personalities and talents.  

1979: Passed away in Paris.
