【Artwork Description】
This work is part of the "peace tips" series. The composition, where the "favorite things" of the white-faced creature depicted at the bottom of the canvas seem to erupt and spread from above its head, is common with "fishing enthusiast." This work depicts countless motifs related to the hobby of gaming, such as game controllers, handheld game consoles, dice, swords and shields, potion bottles, coin purses, and characters reminiscent of dragons, knights, and fairies.
The background features a large gradient, transitioning from deep blue at the top to green in the middle, and then to a vibrant yellow at the bottom, suggesting the world of games itself expanding like a universe under a blue sky. Within the intricate white line patterns filling the head, faint designs resembling swords, castles, and character silhouettes are subtly integrated, delicately expressing how the mind is filled with the singular world of gaming.
While "fishing enthusiast" dealt with the hobby of fishing, this work's theme is the hobby and worldview of "gaming." Through the density and diversity of specific items like swords and magic, pixelated characters, and controllers, the vast and colorful inner world of the gaming hobby is visualized.
As stated in the artist's comment, this work also explores the joy of "common ground" that arises precisely because "no two people are exactly alike." It conveys the wish that if the enthusiasm and passion that fill someone's mind—here, the hobby of gaming—could be visibly shared, then unexpected connections might be found even with people far away or those one thought impossible to understand.
【Artist's Comment】
No two people
are exactly alike.
That's why people are happy
when they find "common ground."
People far away, if only they knew,
there might be many with the same hobby.
Even in enemy countries during wartime, surely.
What's in our hearts is invisible.
If there were a world that could be shown,
we might become closer,
and your likes might increase.
Perhaps "hobbies"
might save the world.
Wishing for peace, today as well.
