Raymond Peynet was the most popular illustrator in 20th-century France, with several museums in France and Japan dedicated to his work. He depicted the love between lovers, always surrounded by small animals, trees, and flowers. Peynet's works convey messages of love and peace, and his empathy for small animals and plants leads to environmental protection. In Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a sculpture of Peynet's lovers stands as a symbol of world peace. This print was produced in France in 1985 as part of a series. It is, of course, new. It is sold out even in France, and only used items appear on the market. Please refer to the following websites for information on Peynet's museums.

【Artwork Description】
A lover fell from the sky onto a small house on a hill. Upon seeing her, he said, "I realized I can't live without you." His three suitcases and umbrella next to him seem to be all his possessions. They fit perfectly in this small house. In the sky where the lover flew, countless heart marks remained, like the trails of a jet. All the surrounding trees were adorned with fresh green leaves, and the tulips in the garden were blooming. Small wildflowers, butterflies, owls, small birds, rabbits, turtles, and snails on their backs, all the hill's inhabitants, seemed to be enjoying the soft spring light. Their new life begins in this small house. Gallery Adekat, Yasuhiro Takeda
Gallery Adekat purchased 5,000 copies around 1992 from Alexandre Tocart, the nephew of Mr. Muret, Peynet's publisher (who co-produced Raymond Peynet's prints and had Raymond Peynet sign them himself), and the representative of the French distributor (Edition des Cercles) of those prints.
Gallery Adekat operated Galerie Vent de France at Karuizawa Prince Hotel for 20 years, from 1995 to 2015, and therefore had a close relationship with the Peynet Museum in Karuizawa. To foster exchange between the Karuizawa Peynet Museum and the Musée Peynet et des Humoristes in Antibes, Southern France, Gallery Adekat was dispatched by the Karuizawa Peynet Museum and continues to interact with the Musée Peynet in Antibes and Raymond Peynet's daughter, Annie Peynet.

Raymond Peynet's artistic world depicts a paradise where small animals and plants coexist happily, centered around the love of lovers. In the 21st century, with environmental destruction and ongoing wars, Raymond Peynet's paintings of love and peace are considered a message for modern times. We hope that by encountering Raymond Peynet's world surrounded by peace, love, and gentle nature, people will cultivate a heart that values peace, love, and our fellow creatures—nature, animals, and plants.
