He was one of the greatest, most prolific and creative painters of the 20th century, producing paintings, prints, ceramics and sculptures. The Picasso Museums in Madrid, Paris and Antibes, and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne all have many Picasso works in their collections, and many museums competed to acquire them. His style changed over the years, and he was influenced by African sculpture, which led to the development of Cubism.
Born in Malaga, Spain in 1881
He showed talent from an early age and began painting oil paintings at the age of eight.
1892: Entered the La Coruna School of Fine Arts
His father, an art teacher and curator, was amazed at his son Pablo Picasso's incredible talent, so he gave him his own oil painting tools and stopped painting himself.
1895 Entered the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona
1897 Entered the Royal School of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid
1900: Moved to Paris
1901: Paris art dealer Vollard holds Picasso's first solo exhibition
