In Greek mythology, the goddess Gaia, angered by the arrogant giant Orion, had a scorpion kill Orion. That scorpion is said to have become the constellation Scorpio. People born under the sign of Scorpio are reserved and do not show their emotions, but they are deeply affectionate, excel in concentration, perseverance, and insight, and devote themselves to those they trust. However, they tend to be jealous and aggressive towards those they oppose.
A giant scorpion with large eyes rears its tail into the sky, ready for battle. On its coiled tail, a couple sits happily. The woman looks at the man with a passionate expression and touches his body. She seems to be a loving Scorpio woman. The ground where the scorpion lies appears to be sandy, but exposed steep rocks are also present. The distant landscape also features castles and spires built on islands surrounded by steep rocks. It looks like a sea and island visible from the sandy beach where the scorpion is. In the sky, a yellow sun or moon is depicted, seemingly blessing the lovers along with small animals like birds and flowers.
Galerie Adekat, Yasuhiro Takeda
Around 1992, 【Galerie Adekat】 purchased 5,000 prints from Alexandre Tocart, the nephew of Mr. Mullet (who collaborated with Raymond Peynet to produce Raymond Peynet's prints, which Raymond Peynet signed himself) and the representative of the French distributor (Edition des Cercles) of those prints.

Galerie Adekat began to focus on selling Raymond Peynet prints, with the friendship with Alexandre Tocart as its starting point.

Galerie Adekat managed "Gallery Vent de France" at Karuizawa Prince Hotel for 20 years, from 1995 to 2015. Due to this, they had a close relationship with the Peynet Museum in Karuizawa. To foster exchange between the Karuizawa Peynet Museum and the Raymond Peynet and Humorous Painters Museum in Antibes, southern France, Galerie Adekat was dispatched by the Karuizawa Peynet Museum and continues to interact with the Peynet Museum in Antibes and Raymond Peynet's daughter, Annie Peynet.
Raymond Peynet's artistic world depicts a paradise where small animals and plants happily coexist, centered around the love of lovers. In this 21st century, with its environmental destruction and ongoing wars, Raymond Peynet's paintings of love and peace are believed to be a message for our times. We hope that by experiencing Raymond Peynet's world, surrounded by peace, love, and gentle nature, you will cultivate a heart that cherishes peace, love, and all fellow creatures, animals, and plants of Earth.
