Original lithograph based on a painting of the same name.
He painted bright and elegant pictures with simplified flat colors, planes, and lines. He was a very French painter who aimed not for expressive art, but for comforting interiors. Born in northern France in 1869. Studied at the Académie Julian art school in Paris in 1991. Initially, he painted with bold colors, which led him to be called a Fauvist painter along with Vlaminck and Derain. Later, he showed a tendency towards geometric patterns and the abstraction of objects, and his lines and flat colors became simplified. Paintings, prints, paper cutouts, stained glass, church interiors. Died in Nice in 1954. His works are housed in famous museums around the world, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
