Produced by the Mourlot workshop, limited to 2000 copies, based on Matisse's cutouts for the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris
He created bright and elegant paintings using simplified, flat colors, surfaces, and lines. He was a very French painter who aimed to create relaxing interiors rather than expressive art. Born in northern France in 1869. Studied at the Academie Julian, an art school in Paris, in 1991. Initially, he painted with bold colors, and was called a Fauvist painter along with Vlaminck and Derain. Later, he showed a tendency towards geometric patterns and abstraction of objects, and lines and flat colors became more refined. He painted, prints, papercuts, stained glass, church interiors, and died in Nice in 1954. His works are in the collections of famous museums around the world, including the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris (Pompidou Center), the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, etc.
