At first glance, it appears to be a very ordinary pair of white leather shoes. However, at the toe, an organic form reminiscent of a brain is revealed, and the same texture quietly spreads within the shoe. This work, "Secret in the Boots," is a surrealistic piece typical of Iguchi Erie, seemingly encapsulating the inner self of a human within a familiar, everyday item of footwear.

Shoes are the most familiar tool for a person to walk through life, and they symbolize a person's profession, individuality, and values. However, in this work, what is hidden inside is not a foot, but a brain-like form that seems to symbolize human "thought" and "memory." The "secret" indicated by the title might be the depths of the heart that others can never see—a accumulation of experiences, emotions, dreams, and conflicts.

While the white leather shoes evoke purity and everyday life, the gray interior, which appears as if the surface has crumbled away, suggests the passage of time and layers of the mind.
