This humorous sculpture boldly combines disparate images, such as a glossy black high heel, a wine bottle, bird legs and feathers, and fur.

This piece is part ofエリー Iguchi's "Wine Stand Series." The high heels in this series were born from a suggestion by Sanma Akashiya, who said, "I'd like to see them made with women's legs." Furthermore, this work was inspired by Mr. Sanma's younger days' comedy sketch about a "turkey," and the fact that the exhibition period was close to Christmas also played a role in its creation.

What's interesting here is the commonality with the birth of the globally renowned "Birkin" bag.

In 1984, actress and singer Jane Birkin found herself coincidentally seated next to Jean-Louis Dumas, then chairman of Hermès, on a flight from Paris to London. When she mentioned that she couldn't find a practical bag as a young mother, Dumas sketched an ideal bag for her on the spot. This led to the birth of the "Birkin."

In other words, neither the Birkin nor this work was planned as a complete product or artwork from the outset.They share the common origin of a creator taking a casual idea or request from an individual and developing it into a concrete form.

Just as Jean-Louis Dumas designed a bag based on Jane Birkin's words,エリー Iguchi boldly materialized Sanma Akashiya's idea of "I'd like to see them made with women's legs" into a sculpture.

Of course, while the Birkin was born as a practical bag, this work, while being a stand to support wine, is also an independent sculptural piece. However, what both have in common is thatencounters and conversations with people from different fields lead to new creations.

In this work, a glossy black high heel is integrated with a wine bottle, and unexpected elements like bird legs, feathers, and fur are added. By combining the luxurious feel of wine and high heels with animalistic and slightly bizarre motifs, it gives viewers surprise, laughter, and a delightful sense of "what is this?" incongruity.
