Born in Arles in the south of France in 1838 , he began painting as a boy and his talent was recognized.

1956: Held his first solo exhibition and his talent was publicly recognized.

He was taught by many artists, including Picasso.

In 1964 , he signed a contract with the Galerie de Paris and began to attract attention in Paris as an up-and-coming artist.

He held solo exhibitions at famous galleries and museums around the world, including the prestigious American gallery, Walley Findlay, which had branches in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Paris, and the Centre Pompidou, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. He has also visited Japan several times.

Vision Nouvelle released an original lithograph of D'Autrelot, and he subsequently produced many other original lithographs. His works are collected by the Van Gogh Foundation. He was commissioned by Air France and many other golf courses, equestrian clubs, yacht harbors, and others to create paintings and murals. He created a large mural for the main entrance of the prestigious Swiss international school , Institute du Rosey (commonly known as Le Rosey).

He paints landscapes, horses, athletes, and more, capturing a moment in time, and in the moment of the moving subject he makes us feel the moment before, and a premonition of the next moment. He expresses movement within a moment. Even when he paints a still landscape, he makes us feel the moment, and the stillness of that moment gives us a sense of mysterious sway and silence, as if we have traveled back in time from another dimension.
