This work is a significant print created from the dialogue between literature and art.
《La Mise en mots》 symbolically expresses Chagall's unique dreamlike universe. The composition, with two faces transforming in a spiral and a sun containing a pink animal above them, evokes both mystery and intimacy.
The poetic imagery woven from black, yellow, red, and green condenses the themes that run through Chagall's art: love, spirituality, memory, and imagination. This world, where figures and animals, reality and fantasy lightly intertwine, evokes rich emotions as if visualizing "words."
In addition to being a limited edition of 175, its status as an artist's proof gives it high collectible value. It is a culturally significant work where literary history and art history intersect.
A representative painter of the School of Paris, born in 1887 and died in 1985
