Dolores Cabdevila - La infanta de Coello en el bosque (Coello's Infanta in the Forest)

La infanta de Coello en el bosque (Spanish: The Infanta of Coello in the Forest) is a 2008 work by contemporary Argentinian artist Dolores Capdevila.

The title's "Infanta" is the title given to a princess of the Spanish royal family. It is known as an important motif in Spanish court painting, as seen in Margarita Teresa of Spain, who is depicted in Las Meninas, a masterpiece by Spanish court painter Diego Velázquez.

This work evokes the image of a princess in such a court portrait, and by placing the princess in a fantastical forest landscape, it expresses a poetic and narrative world.
