Ambroise & Victor: The Living

A cloud-like organic mass hangs suspended above the fireplace. Various sizes of disc-shaped panels coalesce, forming a tassel-like outline that fills the corner of the room. Each panel features delicate motifs of flowers, insects, fungi, and minerals, drawn in ink. These are then digitally reconfigured and composited, before being printed and mounted onto wood, extending the sketches from paper into the space itself. The panel surfaces are a mixture of white backgrounds with intricate patterns and dark, black backgrounds, as if light and shadow, life and death, intertwine to form a single cloud. Titled "L'âge d'or et d'harmonie" (The Age of Gold and Harmony), this work, placed in the room of the same name, embodies Ambroise&Victor's consistent worldview—that fragments of individual living things gather to form a single, large whole—utilizing the entire space.
