A dark, sunken space spreads within the body. What is depicted there is a micro-universe of overlapping flowers, fungi, and microscopic creatures. This inner garden, revealed when a cow's torso is opened, reinterprets the cow's digestive function—circulating through four stomachs to transform food into energy—as a creative force. The outer contours are rendered realistically with delicate gradations created by ink wash (lavis), and the contrast with the black void inside quietly brings forth another world hidden beneath the familiar form of livestock. This piece symbolizes the meticulous production unique to Ambroise&Victor, who dedicate 600 hours of handwork to a single cow.
