A single bird, poised to take flight with its wings spread wide. Its body is carved from plaster layered over a Styrofoam core, finished with a matte, pure white texture. Meanwhile, paper is stretched over its wooden wings, and countless microorganisms, spores, and cloud-like patterns, drawn in sumi-e ink, spread across the wings like a celestial map of the night sky. The combination of the sculptural volume of the body and the intricate detail of the drawn wings creates a coexistence of "living three-dimensionality" and "a depicted universe" within a single entity. Its posture, as if lightly suspended in mid-air atop a slender support, resonates with the mirror placed above the fireplace, drawing the viewer's gaze upward and outward. This work develops the motif of "a microcosm confined within a single living creature," which Ambroise & Victor have repeatedly explored, into the dynamic image of flight.
