French art critic Jean-Roger Valière wrote that Daniel Cuture's paintings are not merely beautiful in their harmony of colors; they are lively, natural depictions, and also literary works born from his sensibilities and experiences. Born in Paris in 1930, after graduating from the École des Arts Appliqués, an elite school for commercial design, he continued to paint even while working as a designer, becoming a popular artist in France and the United States from the 1970s. After 1990, he lived in his father's hometown in the south of France, and under the bright light of the region, he continued to create works full of happiness with vibrant colors. In Japan, solo exhibitions and Japan tours were held at famous department stores such as Sapporo Mitsukoshi, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, and Kobe Daimaru from 2004 onwards, but in 2012, due to years of eye strain, he lost the ability to distinguish colors, and his painting production came to a halt.
