Jose Piermateo [Happy Time] Oil painting No. 20 with frame

Born in Termoli, Italy in 1963. Received numerous awards, including the Bronze Award at the Witness Painters of the Era exhibition in 1999 and the Lions Club International Gold Award in 2000. Active in France, the UK and the US. His work is also exhibited in department stores in Japan. As well as being a painter, his colorful sculptures are also very popular.

Piermateo is known in the UK as a painter of "happy art". He himself seems to like that expression. For him, the act of painting itself is the driving force behind his creation. As he paints, he travels through a world of fantasy and at the same time discovers a world within himself. He paints to convey the excitement of that wonderful world to people. Here is a quote from his own words: "When I paint, the vibrations of my heart increase. Then I feel energized and can express positive emotions such as beautiful things, happiness, joy, and love on canvas. I am also a musician, so I sometimes play instruments and express musical joy through painting.
