Manuel Luballot paints landscapes of Brittany, Provence, Venice, Paris, and other places. His landscapes sway between reality and fantasy. When he paints Venice or Paris, the fantasy is closer to a bygone era such as the Middle Ages than to the present. One is seized by a mysterious sensation, as if the Middle Ages had suddenly invaded a modern space. His imagination and technique of harmoniously coexisting opposing elements on the same canvas are backed by his extraordinary talent.

This work depicts the coastal scenery of the Brittany Peninsula, which juts out into the Atlantic Ocean in western France. In the foreground, there is a water surface that looks like a canal or river. The seaside scenery is a little lonely, but the pure yellow color gives it a gorgeous look and jumps into the eye.
