Henri Matisse

Born in France in 1869. A 20th-century master who represented **Fauvism** with his vivid colors and simplified lines and planes. He depicted figures, interiors, and landscapes of southern France with decorative and bright compositions, and was also active in various fields such as printmaking, paper cutting, and stained glass. He died in Nice in 1954.
