Born in 1927 in Brussels, Belgium
1944 Entered the Cambre School of Decorative Arts in Brussels
He participated in the Cobra movement with Cabel Appel and Asger Jorn, learned printmaking techniques from Stanley William Hayter and was influenced by Japanese calligraphy. He also had contact with Giacometti, Bram van Velde and Victor Brauner.

Since 1965, he has produced acrylic paintings, ink paintings, and prints that are strongly influenced by Japanese calligraphy.
In the 1980s, he taught at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and became more active as an artist.
