Yayoi Kusama 　　Pumpkin　　1993　Acrylic on canvas

22.7x15.8cm

This work features a large pumpkin (Nankin) in the center, rendered in a striking two-color contrast of vibrant yellow and black. The pumpkin's surface is intricately adorned with black polka dots of varying sizes arranged along vertical lines, with the largest dots in the center gradually decreasing towards the edges to create a three-dimensional, rounded effect. The entire background is filled with a fine yellow mesh pattern (reminiscent of an infinity net) covering the black ground, imparting strong visual dynamism to the entire composition. This painting strongly evokes Yayoi Kusama's signature artistic style, characterized by the pumpkin motif, the repetition of regular polka dots, the net-like background, and the distinctive yellow and black coloring.
