Eri Iguchi
Contemporary Sculptor
Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1989. Completed graduate studies at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts in 2015.
Iguchi creates sculptural works that boldly transform familiar motifs, imbuing them with lustrous finishes and humor. She establishes a unique style that simultaneously evokes a striking sense of unease and familiarity in viewers by subtly incorporating contrasting elements such as femininity, desire, and violence into seemingly disparate motifs like high heels, animals, handguns, and grenades.

About the Works
High Heel Series
These sculptures combine high heels with lustrous finishes and human figures reminiscent of the Venus de Milo in the heel section. The forms, which simultaneously embody elegance and strength, fragility and dignity, quietly question the symbolism surrounding the female body and aesthetic sensibilities.
