Valentine Park, a theme park by Raymond Peynet in Mimasaka City, the hometown of Miyamoto Musashi
In 1988, Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture (then Sakuto Town, Aida County) became a sister city with the French village of love, Saint-Valentin (Saint Valentine Village). After that, it took 10 years to build a love-themed park, Valentine Park Sakuto, with a fountain called "Fountain of Love" and a statue of "Angel and Lovers" by Raymond Peynet in the center of the park. A love-themed hotel, the Sakuto Museum of Art, which houses Raymond Peynet's paintings and prints of lovers, and the Valentine Plaza Cultural Exchange Center were built within Valentine Park. The Sakuto Museum of Art houses 140 of Peynet's works. Also, the 30-meter-tall Sakuto Tower with a European-style bell was built on top of a hill. Valentine Park Sakuto is truly a love-themed theme park.
